Why Should You Take The CPO Course?

Hundreds of local communities require their public and commercial pool operators to become Certified CPO's.
Commercial Pool And Spa Owners/Operators want to show that they are continuously striving to Operate their pools and facilities to higher standards

What Are The Course Requirements:

Each student receives 16 hours of instruction by a Certified Instructor specifically trained to communicate the basic skills necessary to operate a pool or spa facility.
The course is intensive and covers pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment, government requirements, etc.
Each student must attend the 16 hours of instruction and then pass an examination to be Certified. The Certification is for a minimum of 5 years at which time a refresher course and/or an examination must be passed.

The CPO Textbook:

The text for the course is Pool/Spa Operators Handbook, an invaluable resource and reference for the novice and the professional who must trouble-shoot on a broad spectrum of functional problems. In short, every pool operator should have one.
Subject matter includes chemistry, filtration, recirculation, all types of pool equipment, preventive maintenance, seasonal care, storage and handling, safety, energy use and conservation and much, much more. All topics are written by experts in their specialties and the course is thoroughly "field tested".

The Examination:

Each student is required to pass a three hour examination at the conclusion of the Course.
The Course Examination will cover all aspects of the course and the student must achieve a 75% to be recognized as a Certified Pool Operator.

CPO Certificates And Cards:

After successful completion of the course, the 'graduate' will receive a certificate. The certificate includes his/her personal CPO Registration number, which is permanently recorded by the Foundation. It states that the certification was earned through the National Swimming Pool Foundation.
Successful 'graduates' will also receive a wallet card containing all the above information.
